[Lithuania is sitting on the windowsill, looking outside. He's holding the communicator in his hands, looking down at it with distant eyes.]

Sometimes I think that the greatest ability of humans, right after compassion, is the ability to conceive children.

[There's a little pause, as if the next words were an afterthought.] I sometimes have to wonder how it is to know that you are able to found a family like that.

[It is still far from anything remotely scandalous by modern standards, about as innocent as a kiss can get, but it doesn't need to be more for butterflies to fill Lithuania's stomach until he thinks that it might burst from it.

When they break away for air, he softly nuzzles Poland's hair with his nose.] I would never regret being with you. [That is what he came down here for, after all. To tell Poland this.]

...Even though I can't... you know, like... give you a family?

[He laughs softly, a comforting, only barely amused sound.] Wouldn't that be my fault just as much as yours?

...Is it like, really okay with you?

I chose you, and I don't regret it. Knowing fully well that we [are of the same sex/gender because to him there is no difference but akljsdhfjkasdhakj he can't say that.] ...couldn't be blessed with children of our own... But most nations aren't, even if onse of them is female.

[Y'know, the only reason for Greece and Egypt is that Rome was, well, Rome. Very active and stuff.]

[He tries to smile, and mostly manages]

...I like, guess that's true. Still... [Still, it would be nice. It's important to his people, so it feels important to him, so it's sad to know they can't have that.]

We have our people... I guess that is more children than any human would ever have.

[There's no point in pointing out that it's not the same, because they both know that. Poland laces his fingers in between Liet's, gently.]

...And we like, have each other, too.

Which is more than I could ever ask for. [He's being sappy, he knows it. And he doesn't mind. It's true.]

[Still holding Liet's hands, he leans against his shoulder]

...You're like, almost too sweet sometimes. You know that? [Cuddle!]

Then we can give each other a toothache. [Shifts a bit so Poland can rest his head at his shoulder more comfortably.]

You'll like, rot out all my teeth, and the surgeon will have to come pull them, and I'll be a toothless old man, like, centuries before my time. It'll be totally uncute!

[Laughs a little]

Your teeth are stronger than that. [He picks up a straberry and plops it into his mouth.] Or you won't get anymore strawberries.

[Om nom!] And that would just suck.

[Picks one for Liet and holds it up to his lips]

[Presses a fingertip against the strawberry to push it into the other nation's mouth.]You're such a sweet tooth.

[Chews, swallows, then giggles]

And you're mega-sweet, so we match, right? ♥

[He takes one of Poland's hands into his, lacing their fingers together.]

Perfectly.

[Smiles shyly, squeezing Liet's hand. It's almost embarrassing, how easy it seems for Liet to make him blush and his heart flutter wildly... With his free hand, he reaches out and strokes the taller boy's hair]

Awesome.

[He leans into the touch for a moment, but when his eyes flutter shut, it is more embarrassement than anything.] I'm sorry. I ...I shouldn't have brought it up.

[Shakes his head]

It's cool. I mean... we were like, thinking about it, anyway, 'cause of the event. It's totally better to have it out in the open!

[Gets up on his tip-toes to kiss Liet's forehead lightly]

...I wished I could give you children, one way or the other. I... It should be part of a marriage. [Because he knows his faith well enough to be aware of one of the basic requirements of a marriage. And being just unable to fulfill that hurts.]

[Dammit, Liet, you're going to make him feel bad about it, too!]

...Sorry... I... I totally wish I could give you that same thing...

If we adopt children, shouldn't that count, too? [He looks a bit hopeful. When there's no priest, Poland is his authority that can answer religious question.]

Do you like, think we could? [That same spark of hope catches in his eyes] I mean, like, I guess it'd have to be a province or a young nation, and there totally aren't too many of those running around, but like... maybe that doesn't even count here, right? It's not like mortals age here...

I-I like, think if we did that, it should count.

We could try my neighbour, Livonia. He's young and seems to really need someone to look after him... [He froens slightly, furrowing his eyebrows while thinking.] But we could try to adopt someone here, if ...if anyone suitable shows up.
