video; backdated to shortly after Meriken's "let's find America a date" post.

Are there really no simple social rules in the future that people do still follow?

There are some other religions, yes. It's the age where people tolerate other beliefs.

[ Mental refined facepalm. Meriken always caused this kind of trouble... ]

It's not like that. People still got married, but there are some who, by personal choice, didn't get married. And then there's the divorce system. You shouldn't listen to her... Of course I know her. She distracted me almost 24/7.

Poland has been doing that for a while now.

I thought Christians can't get divorced? [One more thing to ask Poland about.] They say it's in the Bible.

Tolerance...is a good thing, actually. Or at least, that's what most people in the future thought.

I guess it is, but things have changed in the future.

[ Guess who rarely read the Bible. Thoughts was: "Shit, it was in the Bible? Why do I never know that?! Must check!" or something along that lines. ]

[Guess who has no way to read and write his own language yet?]

...A lot of things have changed. I was told that Hungary got married to Austria of all people.

[ A blast from the past what even. ]

Of course, do you expect things to stay the same? [ A slight pause. ] Yes and no. They got divorced after a while.

Why did they get divorced?

[No, he didn't. Doesn't. But... so many, many things changed...]

I don't know. I don't pay much attention to them.

[ Mainly because of geographical location. Besides, he's mostly minding his own business. It runs in the family, okay. So many things changed it's scary. ]

You don't pay much attention at all, do you?

[ That is an insult. Have some sarcasm. ]

...I'd take that as a compliment, thank you very much. Maybe I should try to defend myself by saying that their houses was rather far from mine, and we rarely speak even in world meetings.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-

I guess you're really far away. But you're independent from Norway now, from what I've heard?

[Voice]

[identity profile] crymogaea.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that far, but everyone said so. [ Lalalalala at least not being in the same land as those crazy nations. Same continent but not the same land, yessssss. ] Of course. And Denmark too. It's been sixty-two years or so. Should be sixty-three this year.

[identity profile] watchful-knight.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we could never talk to you, Norway would forbid us. [Not that they would have been interested. Sure, some of their people - especially those in the Hanse - were very interested in buying Iceland's dried cod and selling alcohol and other goods in return, but not the nations themselves. While of interest for merchants, there was no meaning for everyone else.] So I guess it's not your fault... Why Denmark? Did the union go that far?

It's probably for the best. I was still a kid by that time.

[ He wouldn't be interested as well and it's not like he would understand, he was still a babby okay. Broski Norway knows best. ]

Yes and no. It was because of...the Black Death, if I remembered correctly. It extinguished Norway's royal line and it forced us to join the Union.

The only ones remaining, yes.
